MOW Solutions
Real-time monitoring and analytics to optimize Maintenance-of-Way operations
Maintenance-of-Way (MOW) equipment plays a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient rail networks, but often lacks the real-time visibility operators rely on for locomotives or railcars. Without insights into location, usage, or health, fleets are hard to manage, schedule, or maintain.
Why Choose ZTR?
ZTR has more than three decades of experience modernizing locomotives across North America and globally. NexSys is the result of that expertise—offering a robust, modular platform that replaces outdated systems with smarter, integrated functionality.
Reduce Downtime
Identify potential issues before they cause breakdowns
Increase Fleet Utilization
Know which equipment is active, idle, or underused
Improve Safety & Accountability
Monitor geozone activity and operator behavior
Streamline Maintenance
Schedule service based on real engine hours, not guesswork
Make Informed Decisions
Justify purchases, right-size the fleet, and track performance by asset type
Built-In Connectivity
Designed to integrate with telematics platforms like Vision for remote visibility
Key Features
Know where each unit is with GPS-based visibility
Track engine hours to schedule maintenance and monitor usage
Receive alerts for critical conditions or operator misuse
Get notified when assets enter or exit defined zones
Analyze which assets are working, underused, or overdue for service
Tailor Vision dashboards to match your fleet priorities
Access insights from the field, office, or anywhere
All data centralized in the ZTR Vision platform for fleet-wide analysis
How It Works
ZTR MOW Solutions use compact, rugged telematics devices installed on Maintenance-of-Way equipment. These devices track engine runtime, movement, and system status, sending data to the ZTR Vision platform via cellular or satellite networks.
All components are designed for harsh rail environments, with long battery life and minimal maintenance requirements.
